Design Hardware door panic hardware meets ANSI A156.3-Grade 1 Standards, complies with the ADA American Disabilities Act and comes with a limited lifetime warranty.
Door Panic Hardware centers on a single device that’s known by several names--crash bar, panic bar device, panic exit device, or simply, exit device. By any name, it’s designed to allow safe and easy exits. It’s also sometimes required in place of knob or lever locks. To determine building requirements, you can refer to the guidelines of NFPA 101 and NFPA 80, from the National Fire Protection Association. And of course, knowing local building codes is important.
Fire-rated wood doors and fire-rated steel doors require exit devices to be fire rated, and their rating goes up to 3 hours with A-Label Fire Doors. Fire-rated devices do not have dogging, because they’re required to latch. All of Design Hardware's exit devices come standard with hex key dogging and are UL listed. Cylinder dogging kits and exit alarm kits are also available.
With a single latch, our rim exit device is for use on single doors or pairs of doors using a mullion. Our rim exit devices are non handed, so they work on right-hand reverse doors and left-hand reverse doors. They’re even easier to install than vertical rod exit devices. At Design Hardware, we also offer a heavy duty 1000 series device and a standard duty 2000 series device. Both Devices are Grade 1.
Vertical rod devices are for pairs of doors. They’re more difficult to template and install, because they must be precisely aligned. To find out more about our devices, click here. Exit device trims are sold separately. At Design Hardware, we offer a variety of lever designs, functions, cylinders and finishes.
